Pre - Post Cruise Civitavecchia

"-I finally found a great option for independently minded clients flying through Fiumicino (FCO - Rome airport) and using Civitavecchia as their embarkation/debarkation port: Fontana del Papa  a farm-house B&B. The first great bonus in staying here for a pre or post cruise stay is location: a mere 20 minute drive from the pier in Civitavecchia and only 45 minutes from Rome's Fiumicino airport. The owners will provide very reasonably priced pick-up and transfers to and from these points as well as the train station in Civitavecchia. If a guest were to spend a few days or a week here there are cooking classes, wine-tasting sessions, recommended tours to the Etruscan tombs in Tarquinia, to Viterbo and one could even make day-trips into Rome itself.

 

The place is a dream come true. My only regret is that I didn't spend more time there. This is for clients who would a appreciate a wonderful Italian countryside experience and hospitality. With only 5 guest rooms, this B&B is obviously geared to individuals or families and not larger groups or people expecting large hotel facilities
